Your use of China Connect Roaming is subject to, and governed by, the following terms of usage:
1. What's included
- Up to a maximum of 120 consecutive days of data roaming in Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau, at $0 during trial period.
- All calls to phone numbers in Canada and China, Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau.
- All incoming and outgoing texts to any phone number in Canada and China, Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau.
- All incoming and outgoing texts to any phone number in Canada and China, Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau.
- Local calling for numbers in Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau, and Canada.
2. What's not included
- You may only place calls to and from Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau, and Canada, any other long distance calling while roaming on China Connect Roaming is not available.
- China Connect Roaming does not allow roaming on any countries other than Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau.
- Usage that exceeds what's included in your monthly Service Plan will be subject to the same rates you would pay as if you were in Canada.
3. Other Service Usage Terms
- To use China Connect Roaming, you must use a VoLTE capable device and enable China Connect Roaming program during or after activation of your applicable monthly service plan. China Connect Roaming will only be available for you to enable upon completion of the activation procedure, including, but not limited to, electronic acceptance of these additional service terms, which will be incorporated into the service terms and/or your Agreement.
- China Connect Roaming will only activate if you use data when roaming in Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong or Macau. Once activated, it will be valid for 120 consecutive days (“China Connect Roaming Period”). At the end of the China Connect Roaming Period, China Connect Roaming will be suspended, and you will no longer be able to roam using China Connect Roaming. You may purchase other roaming services available as add-ons or pay-per-use services if you wish to continue roaming after the end of the China Connect Roaming Period.
- You will receive a notification from us prior to the end of China Connect Roaming Period to inform you of the upcoming suspension. It is your responsibility to make alternate arrangements if you wish to continue to use your device after the China Connect Roaming Period, which will be at your cost. TELUS and/or China Tel Canada will have no liability arising from any losses or damages as a result of, or in connection with, the suspension of China Connect Roaming in accordance with these service terms.
- At the end of the China Connect Roaming Period, or upon your earlier return back to Canada, China Connect Roaming suspension will be lifted (if applicable) and the China Connect Roaming Period will be reset for your future use.
- China Connect Roaming is an add-on feature subject to change, including coverages, rates and usage guidelines. China Tel Canada may, at any time, change, cancel, suspend or terminate the China Connect Roaming program terms, including, but not limited to, cancellation of the $0 offer to begin charging roaming rates. In such cases, we will provide you with thirty (30) days’ notice.
- If you’ve already used all your data in this billing cycle or run out during your trip, you can add a data top-up for an additional charge.
- There’s no need to remove China Connect Roaming from your account when you return to Canada since it can only be activated when you travel.
- Picture & video messaging, including iMessage uses data and not text messages.
- Data usage does not apply when using Wi-Fi or if data roaming is turned off.
- When you arrive at your destination, you’ll receive a free text message to confirm China Connect Roaming is enabled.
- China Connect Roaming can only be managed using self-serve and not through a China Tel Canada Representative.
- By accepting these service terms and/or using China Connect Roaming, you acknowledge and agree as follows:
- China Connect Roaming is subject to changes or restrictions arising from China’s laws and regulations; and/or
- Roaming in China for an extended period may, in the future, be deemed to be in violation of China’s regulatory restrictions on roaming and/or be deemed to bypass certain firewall restrictions imposed by the Chinese government.
- By activating and using China Connect Roaming, you acknowledge that you are using the program at your own risk and are responsible for any claims that may arise from such use. You acknowledge and agree that TELUS and/or China Tel Canada will not be responsible nor liable for any claims arising from, relating to, or in connection with, your use of China Connect Roaming.
